Precautions of low voltage rail powered flatcars

2 When taking a multi-point power supply and the step-down transformer must be operated in parallel, first check the polarity of the transformer outlet. The original side of the step-down transformer has to be supplied from one power point. When the track is too long and has to be powered by different power points, the 36 side track and compensation line should be disconnected to implement each section of the power supply.

  1. The transformer low voltage coil midpoints are withdrawn and the iron clamp pieces lapped. In general, the step-down transformer should be connected to the workshop zero line at the attached grounding mark bolt and the step-up transformer to the body. In addition, other parts of the low voltage 36 line (including the tracks) should not be repeatedly connected to zero. If necessary, the transformer’s low-voltage coil should be disconnected from the hitching point.

  2. The step-down transformer should be installed in a well-ventilated location, away from other heat sources and as far as possible from the furthest supply point to the road track where the impedance is minimal.

  3. step-up and step-down transformers should be installed on a horizontal surface, no other installation methods are allowed.
